HockeyFest is all about the social side of hockey. Players across the country have informed us that having a friendly and social base is a key influence in their playing experience. These social sports days, hosted by Great Britain Hockey in partnership with Notts Sport, are designed to encourage players of all ages and experiences to get involved, pick up a stick, and join in the hockey community. HockeyFest is open to everyone and is a great opportunity for clubs to develop some team unity and enjoyment in the build up to the start of the season.
After an incredible summer of sporting success with the Team GB Olympic women’s hockey team memorably taking Gold in Rio, the sport is set for a surge in popularity, and HockeyFest 2016 has been a great way for clubs to channel this excitement to encourage new participants.
This year’s events have been a roaring success, with 290 UK clubs taking part throughout August and September, with a record number of new members joining in the fun.
